1973 Camaro

The Camaro was a top performer once again in 1973 and offered car buyers a variety of options.  Once main difference that occurred in the 1973 model year was the replacement of the Super Sport with the “Luxury Touring” model or “LT,” this car was specifically geared towards the female demographic.

There were performance options available on the LT, but because of the group it was geared towards, most of the interest in the LT model was centered on cosmetic features and the overall comfort of the car.  Therefore, most of the upgrades on the LT were all to do with paint options, interior options and other features that women liked.  Interestingly enough, it was on this car and this model that hide-away mirrors were first introduced.  Again, this kept in mind the fact that women liked to have the ability to check their lipstick conveniently while they drove.

However, for the guys out there, the Z28 was reintroduced as the performance option for the 1973 Camaro.  This model offered upgrades in engines and suspension features as well as a sharp rear spoiler and special racing stripes.

The 1973 Camaro is an iconic car that not only had a sharp appeal amongst car enthusiasts, but also their wives.
