1970 Dodge Challenger
It just so happens that muscle car enthusiasts love the 1970 Dodge Challenger. This car is touted as being the last pony car to compete in a very crowded market and the Challenger was the luxury model of its sister car, the Plymouth Cuda.
The 1970 Challenger, when originally released, gave the consumer the option of several different styles and versions. There was the Deputy Challenger which was the budget version of this car as well as the Special Edition that flouted a souped up engine and transmission as well as bucket seats and overhead console. The Special Edition also came with a souped up price tag for 1970.
This particular car and body style ran for a total of five years and the 1970 model year was very popular amongst enthusiasts. In fact, in 2008 Chrysler revived the pony car styling on the 1970 Challenger and injected the style into the re-released Challenger in that model year.
Over time, the 1970 Dodge Challenger got the reputation for being a muscle car and the TA and the R/T were paid particular attention by collectors and enthusiasts. There were ten different engine choices originally available and three different transmission choices, this really allowed a car buyer to build a car that had all of their specifications in it.
